When there is air overflow in the system, the air will climb up the pipeline and eventually gather at the highest point of the system, and the exhaust valve is generally installed at the highest point of the system.
When the air enters the exhaust valve cavity and gathers in the exhaust valve In the upper part, as the gas in the valve increases, the pressure rises. When the air pressure is greater than the system pressure, the air will cause the water surface in the cavity to drop. The float ball drops with the water level and opens the exhaust port. After the gas is exhausted, the water level rises and the float ball also as it rises, the exhaust port is closed. In the same way, when negative pressure is generated in the system, the water level in the valve cavity drops and the exhaust port opens. Since the outside atmospheric pressure is greater than the system pressure at this time, the atmosphere will enter the system through the exhaust port to prevent the harm of negative pressure. If the bonnet on the valve body of the exhaust valve is tightened, the exhaust valve stops exhausting. Normally, the bonnet should be in the open state.
The exhaust valve can also be used in conjunction with the isolation valve to facilitate the maintenance of the exhaust valve.
